Supported Housing Officer Vacancy (Tenancy Specialist)

An established charitable organisation is currently looking to recruit a Supported Housing Officer based in the Watford area on a temporary to permanent contract.

Location: Watford

Hours: 37.5 hours

Shifts: 8am-4pm and 1pm-9pm (will include 1 in 4 weekends either 8-4, 1-9 or 11-7)

Duration: Temp to perm

Main responsibilities in the role:

  • Manage a case load of service users aged 18-59 within a homeless hostel
  • Enforce tenancy conditions in line with procedures including low level anti social behaviour and rent arrears
  • Offer specialist knowledge and insight into rent arrears helping tenants with budgeting
  • Support residents with their tenancy agreements, ensuring they understand and adhere to their responsibilities
  • Take legal tenancy action when required, including issuing Section 8 and Section 21 notices
  • Attend court proceedings to complete the legal process for tenancy actions
  • Develop and implement personalised support plans to help residents maintain their tenancies
  • Foster engagement and well-being, encouraging residents to participate in activities that build independence and social connection

Additional requirements:

  • Experience of providing tenancy related support to vulnerable people, particularly homeless client groups
  • An enhanced DBS check from within the last 3 years or willingness to obtain
  • Excellent communication skills and basic IT skills are essential
