Our client is a leading main contractor working in London and home counties. They have a top class multi million pound project portfolio, dealing with super prime high end residential projects.

The need is for an experienced Head of Construction to take charge of delivering high-end, luxury developments. This is a key leadership role where you will bring your expert knowledge of construction methodologies to the table, manage talented internal teams, and collaborate with top-tier subcontractors to ensure exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • A deep understanding of construction methodologies to oversee complex projects from complex basements digs, to high end interior fit out.
  • Excellent technical knowledge to resolve on-site challenges and maintain high standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with UK building regulations and industry standards.
  • Act as a technical authority, advising teams on regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Not only understand project programmes but actively drive.
  • Identify and mitigate potential delays through proactive planning and intervention.
  • Lead and manage both internal labour and external sub-contractors.
  • Advise and support Project Managers and Site Managers, enhancing team performance.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining focus on quality, timelines, and budget.
  • Provide hands-on guidance to ensure progress aligns with expectations.
  • Drive all site progress and performance, ensuring measurables are consistently met.
  • Deliver vital site progress reports to the leadership team, providing clear and actionable insights.
  • Travel between sites to provide on-the-ground leadership and oversight.
  • Proven track record of managing construction teams and delivering high-quality projects in the residential sector, with a preference for super prime residential experience.
  • Exceptional understanding of construction methodology and technical practices..
  • Ability to manage, inspire, and advise teams across all levels.
  • Capability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on quality.
  • Strong ability to provide clear updates to leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as Head of Construction (Ideally 3+ years)
  • Must have experience in the high end residential sector (Ideally 10+ years)
  • It is favourable if you stem from an carpentry background (Ideally 5+ years)
  • Very programme conscious and driven
  • Management and health and safety qualifications
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Strong IT skills
