We are looking for a Tax Accountant on a 12-month FTC to join our Finance team in Leavesden to support the Group Tax Manager (GTM) by managing the governance and compliance requirements for Employment Taxes and be involved in other tax projects within the business.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure governance and process requirements are met within the Employment Tax function for Senior Accounting Officer and Criminal Finance Act purposes
  • Manage the relationships with operating units, external advisers and HMRC in relation to Employment Taxes
  • Manage the compliance process for the various monthly CIS returns, including preparing the monthly returns and advising on a wide range of CIS issues across the business
  • Provide CIS training to colleagues in finance, commercial and procurement
  • Manage the PAYE settlement agreement process for the group using specialist technology
  • Provide advice to HR, payroll and business as a whole on any Employment tax related queries
  • Work with the GTM on a selection of tax related projects with a focus on those that deliver savings within the business

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Tax trained by working towards CTA qualification or at least 3 years in industry with emphasis on employment taxes preferable
  • Must have sound accounting experience and understanding / managing ERP related systems
  • Excellent organiser and communicator
  • Excellent excel and analytical skills
  • Willing to engage with tax technologies
