We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Food Technology Teacher to join our team and inspire the next generation of chefs, nutritionists, and food innovators!

The Role:
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and creative lessons in food preparation, nutrition, and food science for KS3, KS4, and possibly KS5.
  • Develop practical skills in students, ensuring a hands-on approach to learning.
  • Prepare students for coursework and practical assessments, helping them achieve excellent results in their Food Technology qualifications.
  • Create a safe and stimulating learning environment in the kitchen/classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with the department to develop schemes of work, resources, and cross-curricular projects.
  • Foster a passion for food, health, and wellbeing in students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Guide students in the safe use of kitchen equipment and techniques.
  • Manage and organise practical cooking sessions, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
  • Support students' progress through clear assessment and feedback.
  • Participate in school-wide events, including extracurricular clubs and initiatives linked to food and nutrition.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • A degree or equivalent in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level is desirable.
  • A passion for food, health, and inspiring young people.
