TeacherActive is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in East London, committed to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for students with special educational needs. This role is ideal for a candidate with previous experience working in SEND settings, a compassionate nature, and the ability to adapt learning materials to meet the diverse needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide 1:1 support to students with special educational needs

- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing tailored education and behaviour plans

- Support the development of social, communication, and learning skills

- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment

 

Essential Requirements:

- Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant (primary experience preferred)

- Understanding of SEND strategies and individual learning needs

- Strong communication skills and a patient, adaptable approach
