You will play a vital role in providing high-quality education tailored to the needs of students with various SEN requirements. Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons designed to meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to student requirements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and progress.
  • Support students' social, emotional, and academic development through targeted strategies.
  • Monitor and record student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievements and provide constructive feedback.
  • Uphold the school's ethos and values, promoting respect and understanding.

Special Educational Needs Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) as a SEN Teacher.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt lessons to meet individual needs.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting learners.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
