You will play a vital role in providing high-quality education tailored to the needs of students with various SEN requirements. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to specialise in SEN, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons designed to meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to student requirements.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and progress.
- Support students' social, emotional, and academic development through targeted strategies.
- Monitor and record student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievements and provide constructive feedback.
- Uphold the school's ethos and values, promoting respect and understanding.
Special Educational Needs Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) as a SEN Teacher.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt lessons to meet individual needs.
- A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting learners.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
