QA/QC Food Technician

Wednesbury

Monday - Friday

My well-established client based in Wednesbury is looking to recruit an experienced QA/QC Technician to join its rapidly expanding team. This exciting role would also suit a Food Science Graduate with some placement experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure materials and products are handled in a hygienic environment, in line with products specs, compliance and food legislation.
  • Ensure good hygiene and housekeeping standards are always maintained.
  • Carry out Quality duties as outlined by the
  • To take part in all continuous improvement projects relevant to Quality/Technical.
  • Be aware of individual product requirements and acknowledge any problems specific to each product.
  • Assist in customer and 3rd party audits. Be familiar with BRC requirements.
  • Coordinate action for in process and finished product non-conformances, manage follow up of incidents and handle customer complaints in an effective way.
  • To undertake all checks on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as defined on the QMS testing schedule in an accurate and timely manner
  • Verification of production compliance throughout the established QMS & HACCP systems
  • Support NPD Trials
  • To effectively work and communicate with management team and production operatives to continuously improve standards
  • To spend the 80% of the time per shift on the production area
  • Hygiene inspection - where required
  • Quality certificates and COA completion
  • Product release
  • Completion of Fabrication and Glass and hard plastic audits
  • Completion of GMP audit
  • Submission of laboratory samples
  • Assistance in training and verification
  • Calibration of key equipment

Essential Skills / experience

  • Previous Experience in a similar role
  • A can-do attitude, enthusiastic and ability to encourage the others and work as a team player
  • Be self-motivated and proactive, organised and able to multitask
  • Ability to take responsibilities and find appropriate solutions on food safety issues
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and verbal, with a good attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint)
  • Flexible and adaptable in terms of shift pattern and absence coverage
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
