InstasStaff are currently recruiting for a CNC Setter Operator to join our client based in Wednesbury.
Aims of the CNC Setter Operator are to setup, operate and regulary check the CNC machines. You will be responsible for ensuring the client produce quality parts specific to engineering drawings.
Duties of the CNC Setter Operator:
- Setting up and operating CNC lathes in line with requirements and specifications.
- Supporting our production engineers and programmers.
- Setting up new tools and creating reference points to ensure smooth running of machines.
- Overseeing machinery setup to make sure arrangement is safe.
- Safely load and unload raw materials into CNC.
- Identfying solutions for process improvements i.e., speed, tool paths, cuts etc.
- Regularly inspect machines.
- Examine machinery production output.
- Maintain and update records.
- Esculate any issues with tool paths to responsible team leaders.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Support goods out packaging.
- Comply with quality standards.
- Setting gauges and utilitising manual measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot problems during production processes.
The right CNC Setter Operator:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in CNC machines.
- Understanding CNC machines such as turning.
- Understanding of speed, tool paths, and other factors.
- Solid understandings of parameters.
- Experience in setting and operating CNC machines, cutting tools, boring jaws.
- Ability to select appropriate tools.

The hours for the CNC Setter Operator:
- Monday to Friday.
- 07:30 - 16:30.
The pay rate for the role is between £14.00 to £18.00 per hour, this is dependant on experience (higher rate typically given for turning experience).
The role is a direct permanent position, you will be required to go for a minimum of 1 interview, possibly 2 interviews. If you are offered the position you will be direct with the client.
