My client is looking to hire an electronics and embedded software engineer to help develop their increasingly advanced electronic locks. This will be a challenging and diverse role with total responsibility for a product’s electronics and firmware design. Reporting to the Head of Electronics, the position will be based with the engineering team at our factory in Wednesbury in the West Midlands.

Essential Skills

The successful candidate will have a passion for embedded electronics demonstrated by a portfolio of projects in and outside work which they can discuss at interview.

A degree level or equivalent qualification in electronics or embedded software is required.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, coupled with knowledge and experience of the following:

  • Design of electronic systems
  • Microcontroller programming ideally with knowledge of STM32
  • CAD based PCB layout
  • Bluetooth and IOT technology
  • R&D project management

Principal Responsibilities

  • Contribution of new and innovative ideas.
  • Electrical design using CAD to produce schematics and board layouts.
  • Programming of firmware for micro-controllers.
  • Organisation of prototypes and validation testing.
  • Project management to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Technical support for in-service products
