React Native Engineer

I have a truly amazing opportunity to join a dynamic technology company focused on delivering top-notch solutions.

They have asked me to find them a React Native Engineer with proven commercial experience to develop and maintain their innovative mobile applications for Android and iOS, built on Expo.

This role is crucial in ensuring their new product helps organisations manage their operations efficiently.

The role is based in their Midlands office, but role is mostly home based (You need to be able to attend the office at least once a month)

Day-to-day duties of the role:
  • Develop and maintain high-quality Android and iOS applications using React Native and Expo.
  • Implement best practices in mobile app development, including coding standards, code reviews, and automated testing.
  • Create reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features, and manage deployments to the App Store and Play Store.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Write unit tests, integration tests, and ensure high code coverage.
  • Debug and troubleshoot technical issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven commercial experience with React Native and Expo.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and reusable code with TDD or BDD.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript (TypeScript), RESTful APIs, and client-side state management.
  • Strong understanding of version control using Git.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with AWS, serverless architecture, and GraphQL.
  • Experience with native mobile development (Swift, Objective-C, Java, Kotlin).
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum).
Soft Skills:
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
