We are working with a leading FMCG manufacturer who are recruiting for a Head of Engineering.

The successful applicant will ensure all plant, equipment & site services are maintained and repaired in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner whilst ensuring all plant is run to its maximum efficiency.

Manage the engineering resource and ensure compliance with all current codes of practice including company standards and any statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

Will have project implementation knowledge and experience in manufacturing machinery with a view to ensuring new lines added are carried out smoothly and operationally as possible.

Have the ability to lead form the front and be fully committed to a full preventative maintenance programme.

Have the mechanical and electrical knowledge and be able to lead the team implementing training if necessary.

The management of the department is crucial to ensure machines are fully operational.

Managing and developing a team of Engineers.

The day-to-day activities of the site-based engineering department.

Continuous improvement of engineering practices, standards, and projects.

Efficient use of energy resources, including reduction initiatives.

Environmental compliance management.

Ensure buildings, plant & equipment are safe in design & operation

Experience Required.

Minimum 5 years at Head of Maintenance or Senior Manager level.

Must be a team player, innovative, and set the example in leadership.

Recognised electrical and mechanical engineering qualifications.

Extensive experience within a fast-paced Industrial engineering environment.

People management experience

Working understanding of Health & Safety legislation.

Strong multi-skilled technical abilities that can make decisions and make the department run effectively and understand the workings of food manufacturing.
