Who We AreOur specialist school in Wednesbury provides a nurturing and supportive environment for primary-aged children, all with a diagnosis of autism. Many of our pupils are non-verbal, but they have unique ways of communicating and thriving in their learning journeys. Your RoleAs a Primary SEND Teacher, you’ll:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with autism.
- Use creative teaching methods to support both verbal and non-verbal communication, incorporating techniques like PECS, Makaton, or assistive technologies.
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and independence.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure consistent support for each child’s unique needs.
- Celebrate every success and help our pupils develop the confidence to achieve their personal best.
We’re searching for a dedicated and compassionate professional who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has experience teaching children with SEND, particularly autism.
- Brings a deep understanding of autism and a commitment to supporting children with diverse needs, including non-verbal communication challenges.
- Thrives in a collaborative environment and values the role of teamwork in supporting student progress.
- Has a creative, flexible approach and can adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
