Our growing client in the Wednesbury area is seeking a Vehicle Builder / Coach Builder to join their team. This is a hands-on role that involves modifying and rebuilding vehicles for the mobility automotive sector. If you have experience in welding, using power tools, and working with vehicle construction—or are willing to be trained—this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform various types of welding to a high standard.
  • Dismantle and reassemble vehicle components, including structural parts, interiors, and frames.
  • Assemble subframes and refit interiors, including wheelchair access ramps.
  • Modify standard vehicle chassis to create wheelchair-accessible vehicles
  • Follow technical drawings and specifications to ensure precise assembly.
  • Use power tools, cutting machinery, and welding equipment effectively.
  • Inspect and test completed vehicles to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively to solve technical challenges and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience in vehicle body building, metal fabrication, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with welding, power tools, and vehicle construction techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Good physical fitness and manual dexterity.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed.
  • A recognised apprenticeship qualification (e.g., City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3) is advantageous but not essential.
