Aspire are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a fantastic primary school in Wednesbury. The successful candidate will support children with a range of special educational needs (SEN), providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and succeed in their learning. Personal care will also be a key aspect of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one and group support to students with a variety of SEN, including learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities.
* Assist with personal care needs such as toileting, feeding, and moving and handling, in line with students' individual requirements.
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and ensuring the learning environment is inclusive for all students.
* Help students to develop independence and social skills within both classroom and playground settings.
* Monitor and record students' progress, and share observations with the SENCO and teaching staff.
* Work closely with other staff members, parents, and external professionals to support the needs of the students.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential, preferably within a primary school setting.
* Comfortable with providing personal care when required.
* A caring, patient, and proactive approach to working with children.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
* A DBS check will be required (can be arranged if necessary).
Hours:
* Full-time, 5 days a week (term-time only).
