Location: Thrapston, North Northamptonshire

Rate: £56.20/hour

We are currently working with a local authority who are looking to add a Building Control Surveyor to their team. This is initially just a 3 month contract, but with good work this could lead to an extension in the contract.



Purpose of the job:

  • To provide an effective building control service through the regulation and enforcement of the building regulations 2010, the building act 1984 and associated legislation to ensure the health and safety in and about buildings.
  • Delivering professional customer focused LABC service which meets customers' needs and delivers good customer satisfaction which fully explores opportunities to grow market share and maximise income.
  • Promoting sustainable construction and energy efficiency improvements throughout North Northamptonshire.




Roles and responsibilities:

  • Carry out full range of building control, site inspections, investigating structures, handling customer enquiries, coordinating consultations, demolitions, liaising with experts, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proavtively managing contravening building works and enforce the requirements of building regulations through effective enforcement in line with service policies and procedures and the Operational Standards Rules.
  • Maintain detailed accurate records of casework undertakenand involvement in projects in line with performance standards and operational standards.
  • To follow the approved processes and procedures of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System accreditation processes.
  • Carrying out site visits within North Northamptonshire.
