The Teaching Assistant JobWe are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to work with students with a diagnosis of autism and some with more complex needs. You will provide one-on-one support, helping students engage with their learning and develop independence, literacy and mathematics skills. If you have patience, creativity, and a desire to make a real impact in the lives of these pupils, we would be happy to hear from you!

  • Support and training offered every week to further develop your knowledge and skills as an SEN teaching assistant for children with varied needs.

The Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

  • Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
  • Promote pupil's independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
  • Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
  • Support with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons
  • Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures
  • Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
