Warehouse Supervisor

They are a global leader within the communications industry and are growing at an exponential rate. As part of this growth they are looking to employ a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee their new site in Wellingborough.
Job Description:
As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will collaborate closely with the Operations Management Team to drive and deliver exceptional operational performance. You will play a key role in motivating and encouraging staff to achieve their best, while taking responsibility for overseeing team performance, health and safety compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and the implementation of lean management practices. Your role will also involve ensuring the delivery of high-quality service in a cost-efficient and sustainable manner.
Salary: 28,000 - 36,000
Location: Wellingborough
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Performance: Support the Operations Manager in achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Ensure the team consistently meets operational performance targets and address underperformance proactively and systematically.
- Area Expertise and Problem Solving: Act as the subject matter expert for your designated area. Monitor daily team performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and take prompt, proactive action to resolve issues. Escalate concerns to the operational management team when necessary.
- Standards and Compliance: Uphold and enforce the highest standards of quality, health & safety, training, and 5S principles. Address and challenge behaviours that do not meet expectations at all levels.
- Continuous Improvement: Encourage and support the team in identifying opportunities to improve processes and procedures. Lead and promote continuous improvement initiatives, celebrating successes and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Leadership and Team Motivation: Inspire and motivate your team by exemplifying the organisation's values and vision. Act as a role model for excellent leadership, nurturing and developing future leaders within the team.
- Performance Management: Ensure the team consistently demonstrates high standards of performance, conduct, attendance, and punctuality. Take responsibility for addressing areas of concern in a fair, consistent, and timely manner, leveraging available support functions.
- Communication and Engagement: Demonstrate excellent communication skills by sharing team and individual performance results. Ensure team members understand how their contributions drive departmental and organisational success, fostering a sense of purpose and engagement.
- Sustainability Practices: Lead by example in promoting sustainable practices, including reducing, reusing, and recycling wherever possible. Ensure unavoidable waste is managed responsibly.
- Other Duties: Undertake any other reasonable duties required within the scope of the role.
Requirements:
- Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within a factory or similar environment (though this is not essential).
- Team Development: A strong belief in supporting and empowering your team to achieve and maintain high standards of performance and conduct.
- Customer and Operational Focus: A passion for delivering an excellent customer experience, balanced with a clear understanding of how to manage people effectively while driving operational performance.
