gap personnel Exeter are recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor for our client in Wellington, Somerset.  

You will be joining a busy online retailer who currently have a product line of 300 to 400 products. They are a growing company who are looking at innovative ways to expand and deliver the best service to customers and clients. They have worked within the Equine and Agricultural industry for over 10 years’ and now are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join the team in their brand-new facilities in Somerset.

As a Warehouse Supervisor your duties will include:

  • Own the daily pick / pack / dispatch function.
  • Ensure pickable stock is always available and is prepared and replenished in line with forecasted seasonal demand
  • Maintain an accurate and efficient goods in and stock put away process
  • Ensure stock is prepared and available to pick in line with seasonal forecasts.
  • Ensuring all operational KPI's and company requirements are met, tracked, and challenged.
  • Be instrumental in the day-to-day running and cleanliness of the warehouse, managing order volumes, daily workload, and continuous process improvement of the operation.
  • Challenge existing processes, providing input on efficiencies and cost reductions.
  • Address process deviations within agreed timescales.
  • Lead, coach, and develop new and existing warehouse team members.
  • Maintain warehouse operational standards and processes and ensures all team members follow procedures.
  • Responsibility for staff recruitment in-line with seasonal demands of the business and conduct appraisals and disciplinary processes.
  • Responsibility for the FLT fleet.
  • Promote and monitor health and safety compliance regarding staff, buildings, and equipment.

About You:

  • Process driven, with the ability to ability to lead and motivate others and to ensure staff productivity and performance.
  • Previous experience in warehousing / logistics at a supervisory or team leader level.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a business in order to direct and coordinate operations.
  • Resolve conflicts effectively and ability to display a positive attitude in challenging situations.
  • Experience of managing health and safety in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience of stock control management, ERP systems and data management using spreadsheets.
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritise your own and your teams' workload effectively.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • A self-starter with initiative to solve problems unaided.
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adapt to change.
  • Be a role model.

Working Hours & Pay:

  • Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
  • £30,000 - £40,000PA (DOE).
