Reed Accountancy are delighted to be working with a lovely organisation in Wells who are on the search for a Finance Assistant to join their team. 

This role is ideal for someone with a good financial background who has strong interpersonal skills is looking to make a significant impact in a community focused environment. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary financial contact for community partners, offering support and guidance on financial responsibilities.
  • Manage the administration of the contribution system, ensuring contributions are collected and properly allocated.
  • Provide targeted fundraising support and advise on appropriate accounting treatments.
  • Facilitate the submission of financial statements and returns by partners, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Visit partners occasionally to provide direct support and build relationships.
  • Assist in general financial processes within the Finance Team, including sales ledger management and debtor reconciliations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Accounting qualification or relevant experience in financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and bank reconciliations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and capable of learning new accounting software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly.
  • Experience in working collaboratively across teams and building effective relationships.
