The Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway is a registered charity. An eight-mile long 2ft 6in gauge railway running through beautiful mid-Wales countryside, it provides a steam-hauled tourist service and heritage displays. Operated predominantly by volunteers, the railway carries more than 25,000 passengers a year with an annual turnover of over half a million pounds. We are custodians of a significant portfolio of historic assets.

We are seeking an experienced manager to lead the infrastructure and buildings team, both paid and voluntary, in safely maintaining the railway's track, civil engineering, infrastructure and buildings. The role will include ensuring the availability of the required infrastructure resources to enable the timetabled train services to operate, alongside providing appropriate advice and information on all aspects of civil engineering and building maintenance.

As the successful candidate, you have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and a proven track record of motivating and managing. You are positive, energetic and enthusiastic. You are a 'hands-on' engineer with practical experience and theoretical knowledge in a civil engineering or buildings discipline.
