Im working with a well-established manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a Production Planner on a fixed-term contract for a period of 12-18 months. This is a great chance to join a thriving and reputable manufacturing business who are leaders in their sector. As the Production Planner you will be producing production plans that meet customer demand as well as being operationally effective.

The Production Planner will be responsible for:

Ensure all essential resources are available to support production targets

Develop and distribute detailed production plans

Coordinate schedules to match confirmed material availability

Manage capacity planning and shift schedules effectively within the ERP system

Ensure accurate date tracking to uphold high standards of customer service

Enhance production efficiency through collaborative product campaigning

Provide timely updates on order statuses to Customer Service

Regularly update reports and lead daily team discussions

Track delivery performance, investigate failures, and implement corrective actions

Participate in key meetings for target setting, capacity planning, and trial reviews

Compile and present the Open Order Book during daily meetings.

Ensure MRP is kept up to date and ensure all raw materials are administered effectively within the system

Maintain organized and accurate MRP data for effective system performance

Skills and Experience

Good working knowledge of MS Excel

Significant experience of Production Planning within a manufacturing business

Previous experience in a Production Planner / Production Controller / Production Scheduler / Senior Planner / Lead Planner role

The ability to work well under pressure and be a pragmatic problem solver

Good knowledge of MRP / ERP systems will be essential
