  • Diagnose breakdowns, design, promote and carry out Preventative Maintenance
  • Ability to deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
  • Ensure all machines are safe and fit for purpose
  • Assist with the installation of new machines and equipment.
  • Maintain and repair of all equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to understand specialist electrical equipment such as logic controllers etc.
  • Work with and install single phase / three phase electrical circuits and equipment.
  • Coordinate contractors and ensure they are working to pre-agreed safety and quality of work standards.
  • Specify, ordering and managing stocks of supplies and equipment within specified budgets.
  • Effective Communication - keeping Management and relevant parties aware and seeking advice and assistance when required.
  • Any other duty as may be required commensurate with the grading of the post and the skill of the post holder

Person Specification

  • City & Guilds / ONC in electrical engineering
  • Ideally, the candidate would be experienced in both electrical and mechanical
  • Should have 18th addition wiring regs qualification as well as a Level 3 NVQ Engineering Maintenance 1788-30.
  • Experience of hydraulic systems, electrical heated ovens, compressors, and chemical process equipment
  • PLC knowledge / experience in fault finding and rectification.
  • Good IT skills and experience in using preventative maintenance software.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety matters in a maintenance environment
  • Manufacturing environment, hydraulic presses, ovens, compressors, particularly in a metal forming environment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, hydraulic systems, and pumps
  • Working with single phase / three phase electrical circuits
  • Software based TMP Systems.

Desirable

  • Mechanical & electrical biased.
  • Experience in a metal environment is preferable
