Our client is recruiting for a Principal (or senior, or associate) Structural Engineer to join their industry-respected and growing business. With offices across the UK, our clients multi million pound teams consult, deliver and manage infrastructure projects across a broad spectrum of engineering sectors.

You will not only be a people leader but also serve as a technical sounding board, applying your extensive experience to guide the team in solving complex design problems.

Your Responsibilities

Build and nurture relationships across diverse sectors, planning for future projects.

Coordination of design outputs across all technical disciplines

Delivery of the design stage outputs within the agreed timescale and budget

Ensuring that an adequate Technical, Safety review is carried out for each project

Oversight of production of design documents which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification

Ensuring that company/Client standard designs and design practices are utilised wherever possible

Recording, monitoring and controlling design changes in order to maximise cost efficiency

Raising and resolving technical queries

Establishing working relationships with Client and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in design outputs

Contributing to ensuring a safe working environment for all staff

Maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback

Taking all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality

Act as a technical authority for Infrastructure Design across all project offices

You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:

  • Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer CEng MICE/ MIStructE.
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
  • SC clearance (or eligibility).
  • Full Clean Current UK Driving Licence.
  • Any experience with some of the following programs: AutoCAD, Tekla or similar.
