Position Overview:

We are seeking an experiencedSenior Nursery Practitionerto join our team and play a key role in leading and supporting our nursery staff in delivering high-quality care and education. The successful candidate will be passionate about early years education, committed to childrens development, and able to provide guidance to junior practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Support:Oversee day-to-day activities, mentor junior practitioners, and assist the Room Leader in managing the room and ensuring a positive, engaging learning environment.
  • EYFS Implementation:Develop and deliver age-appropriate activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, fostering childrens physical, social, and cognitive development.
  • Child Observation and Assessment:Conduct regular observations, monitor progress, and complete developmental assessments, updating records in line with nursery policies.
  • Parent Engagement:Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates on childrens progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Safeguarding and Health & Safety:Ensure all safeguarding policies and health and safety regulations are followed, creating a safe and secure environment for children.
  • Team Collaboration:Work closely with the nursery team to maintain high standards of care and contribute to continuous improvement in the nurserys operations.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications:Level 3 Diploma in Childcare or equivalent; Pediatrics First Aid certified.
  • Experience:Minimum of 2 years of experience in an early years setting, with a background in mentoring or leading other staff preferred.
  • Skills:Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to manage and motivate a team.
