You will be responsible for overseeing the finance function, managing period-end closing, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, all while navigating the fast-moving retail industry.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the timely and accurate closure of period-end reporting, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Manage the finance team in producing financial reports, analysing costs, and handling the flash profit process.
  • Prepare and post journals in both the general ledger and consolidation systems, ensuring all period-end tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Lead the review of the company's P&L, working closely with senior management to ensure the period-end close is efficient and accurate.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on complex transactions, including acquisitions and disposals, ensuring financials align with strategic business decisions.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for cashflow, explaining key movements in management meetings and assisting with cashflow forecasting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, especially in business planning and budgeting, to drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.

Profile

Skills & Experience:

  • ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification with at least 2 years PQE.
  • Experience in large practice firms or similar fast-paced, high-volume environments.
  • Proven track record in period-end closing and managing complex financial processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to switch between high-level strategy and detailed financial analysis.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
