The position will be the cornerstone of technical accounting activities including risk and IFRS compliance.Key areas of responsibility:* Providing technical accounting advice to management and finance teams across the Group on complex and material transactions* Preparing and reviewing accounting papers supporting the accounting for key transactions, explaining complex issues clearly and concisely* Monitoring, analysing and assessing the impact of new accounting standards, amendments and interpretations, including IFRS 18* Continuously improving the Group Accounting Policies manual* Designing and presenting training webcasts on new accounting developments and topical issues* Supporting the preparation of and reviewing the Group's annual and interim accounts, making suggestions for best practice disclosure improvements, especially in relation to new accounting standards. Ad hoc projects are a regular feature of this role and require strong analytical ability as well as proven influencing skills over other functions within the business.
