Our client is a leading organisation operating in a complex global landscape, dedicated to delivering innovative technology solutions. We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping our Identity strategy.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will leverage your extensive experience in large-scale systems engineering to drive the creation and execution of our Identity strategy, with a primary focus on Active Directory (AD). Your expertise in technology strategy, roadmap planning, and project delivery will be crucial as you work on AD domains strategy, remediation, consolidation, and transformation, as well as backup and recovery processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Identity strategies centred around Active Directory and its associated domains.
  • Lead the planning and execution of Active Directory remediation and transformation projects.
  • Oversee backup and recovery solutions for Active Directory, ensuring robust disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
  • Utilise your knowledge of Active Directory, Azure/Entra AD, and related infrastructure components to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Communicate technology vision and roadmap effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Maintain strong operations and customer awareness, ensuring delivery-focused outcomes.
  • Stay current with Microsoft best practises around security technologies, ensuring a secure by design mindset in all initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and implementing complex identity and workplace collaboration solutions at scale.
  • Proven domain administration experience in a large, complex global enterprise.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Active Directory, including Azure/Entra AD.
  • Experience with Active Directory backup/restore solutions, including DR, TLR, and BCP.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory infrastructure components such as DNS, Group Policies, LDAPs, and Kerberos Authentication.
  • In-depth expertise in PKI and certificate services.
  • Solid architectural knowledge of file services, including DFS and cloud-based storage technologies.
  • Profound understanding of data technologies related to file servers, both on-premises and in the cloud, with a focus on data security, archiving, retention, compliance, and backup/recovery.
  • Familiarity with the M365 product stack and its associated productivity tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft management tools and licencing models.
  • Deep understanding of Federation Services, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Server-based Operating Systems (2016, 2019, 2022).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows security and auditing, with up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft best practises.
