Role:Â Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)
Location:Â Welwyn Garden City
Shifts:Â Double Days (6am-2:30pm and 1pm-9:30pm)
Package: £50,000- £55,000 + up to 10% Bonus + up to £1400Health & Safety Bonuses (overtime paid at 1.5 or 2.0)
The Company
I am proud to be working exclusively with Ecobat who are the industry leader in the production of lead and lead alloys mainly from recycled sources. Ecobat operate across 4 divisions including Lead production, Battery Distribution, Battery Recycling and research & innovation with an annual turnover of around 2 billion pounds globally! They are big believers in making the planet a better place as they recover and repurpose over 99% of metal used. They boast 11 smelters across two continents, so they are a world player within their industry and offer immense security and stability within the role. Â The business has an average output of over 840,000 tons of lead and at this site they manufacture 150 tonnes of product a day to provide bespoke products to their customers.
At this site in Welwyn Garden City, they have recently invested a few million pounds into the site to bring it up to date and keep it running as efficiently as possible. They are forever looking for areas to upgrade the site with various projects and continuously improving the efficiency of the machinery so there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get your teeth stuck into this. It’s an exciting time to join Ecobat as they have a number opportunities available from Electrical Maintenance positions as well as the opportunity to step into more of a leadership role if that’s what you desire!
The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) you will be:
- Joining the electrical team,working with various engineers, a team leader and an apprentice
- On a daily basis electrically installing, maintaining & fault finding, working with components such as: PLC’s, inverters, sensors, relays, contactors and three phase motors
- Able to fault find and interrogate the PLC’s
- Reacting to electrical breakdowns as well as working alongside a PPM schedule to pro-actively keep the site working efficiently
- Getting involved with projects and CI tasks
- Able to have the potential to step up into a team leader role, running the day to day electrical department demands whilst  getting involved with the main projects on site
The Candidate
In a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) I am looking for:
- An engineer with an established electrical qualification
- Happy working as part of a team but when needed be able to work independently
- Confident fault finding electrically and working on three phase motors
- (Desirable not essential) A quick learner who can adapt and get along with team members and potentially show the capability to step up to a Team Leader

- An Annual salary of £50,000- £55,000
