JOB- Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION- Welwyn Garden City
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- 35,000 to 45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Premier Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading company in Defence and Aerospace based in Welwyn Garden City. This role involves designing high-precision mechanical components and assemblies, working closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to develop innovative solutions for critical applications.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience in mechanical design within the Defence, Aerospace, or Precision Engineering sectors
  • Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
  • Knowledge of materials, machining, and fabrication processes
  • Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles
  • Experience producing detailed technical drawings, GD&T, and BOMs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
