Senior Pensions Administrator

About the Role: Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Pensions Administrator to join their dynamic team. You will be instrumental in supporting the administration team, handling complex technical administration cases and calculations within a defined benefit scheme. This role will require you to manage multiple responsibilities while ensuring compliance with all relevant UK pensions legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform calculations and manage member correspondence, ensuring completion within Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Handle calculations and correspondence for high earners, including management of legislative controls for protection.
  • Conduct QA checks on colleague communications, ensuring compliance with pension regulations.
  • Update and reconcile worklists to maintain compliance.
  • Review transfer cases to ensure they meet regulatory standards.
  • Manage email correspondence and team inboxes efficiently.
  • Assist auditors with queries during the annual audit process.
  • Complete and review complex member calculations, maintaining SLA standards.
  • Review complaint/historic pension transfer cases and authorize daily payments.
  • Support processes to maintain compliance and minimize escalations and complaints.
  • Provide support and testing for cyclic and key projects.
  • Assist the team in preparing for PMI exams and proactively suggest process improvements to drive efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive experience in DB Pension Scheme administration.
  • Experience within in-house or third-party administration environments.
  • Expertise in technical benefit calculations.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK pensions legislation.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A strong team ethic and a willingness to assist others.
  • Highly motivated with a keen desire to learn.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
