About the Role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Advisor to join a leading principal contractor in Hertfordshire. This permanent position offers a competitive salary of up to £60,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
As the Health and Safety Advisor, you will work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to roll out a range of exciting fit-out and refurbishment projects across the Hertfordshire area. You will be responsible for ensuring safety standards are met on site, writing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and liaising directly with clients to ensure clear communication and adherence to safety policies.

The projects you’ll be involved with will vary in value, ranging from £100k to £5m, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on both office and site-based activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Health and Safety Manager with the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures across multiple projects.
- Write and review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for projects, ensuring they meet industry standards and site-specific requirements.
- Monitor and inspect sites regularly to ensure health and safety standards are being followed and identify any areas of improvement.
- Liaise closely with clients to provide health and safety updates, advice, and ensure requirements are met.
- Assist in maintaining safety documentation and compliance records, ensuring all paperwork is up to date and accessible.
- Actively promote a safe working environment by advising and educating site teams on best practices, safe working methods, and safety protocols.
- Attend site meetings to provide safety guidance and support.
- Assist in investigating incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Work between the office and various site locations across Hertfordshire.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in the construction or fit-out sector.
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification is essential.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in construction.
- Experience in writing and reviewing RAMS for construction and refurbishment projects.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and site teams.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to ensuring safety standards are upheld.
- Full driving license as the role involves travel between office and site locations within Hertfordshire.
- Ability to manage health and safety on multiple projects ranging from £100k to £5m in value.
