Assistant Planner

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a dynamic multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Stevenage in their hire of an ambitious Graduate or Assistant Town Planner!

The practice provides Town Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, and Interior Design services to private and public sector clients throughout the UK.

The established planning team of 7 specialists sits among a wider team of architects and urban designers and works on circa 100 projects per year including schemes in the residential, commercial, industrial, educational and infrastructure sectors.

Many members of the team have previously worked in the public sector, and all have extensive experience of both the legislative framework and the practicalities of working with local planner to achieve client's objectives.

As part of the team, you will support the Senior Planners in several planning duties, and will be in charge of managing basic planning applications and discharge of conditions, etc. You will support the seniors on more complex projects, with an increasing level of responsibility as skills and experience progress.

Candidate requirement:

  • RTPI accredited degree or qualification in Town Planning or related field.
  • Ideally some post graduate experience working in the planning field, either public or private.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Pro-active attitude to project management and problem solving.
  • Work well as part of a team.
