Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: Up to £75,000 + Benefits
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a medium-sized, fast-growing property developer based in Hertfordshire. Specialising in traditional build developments, this dynamic company is delivering 200 units annually, with a strong pipeline of 500 units and clear plans for future expansion.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing one or two key developments, playing a crucial role in ensuring the successful financial management of projects from inception through to completion. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join a business with genuine growth prospects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full quantity surveying duties on assigned developments
- Budget management, cost planning, and forecasting
- Procurement and management of sub-contractors
- Value engineering and cost control to ensure projects are delivered within budget
- Risk management and contract administration
- Preparation of financial reports and valuations
- Support in driving project efficiency and profitability
- Work closely with the project management and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally at Senior or Lead level
- Experience in traditional build residential developments
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts, particularly JCT
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
