To contribute to the achievement of the Group's business plan objectives and the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation by:

  • Preparation, analysis & interpretation of monthly management and financial accounts of several UK subsidiaries to senior management.
  • Supporting the Group Head of Financial Planning & Analysis / Group CFO by providing effective and efficient management accounts and financial information.

Description

As the Management Accountant your key responsibilities will be

  • Reconciliation of monthly balance sheets and inter-company accounts.
  • Ensure control accounts in nominal ledger are reconciled to creditors and debtors aged analysis.
  • Ensure vendor invoices are posted daily.
  • Ensure all cashbooks are up to date and reconciled to the bank daily.
  • Post all month end journals to compile monthly P&L.
  • Ensure all inter-company accounts between CT entities are balanced before month end closure.
  • Month end analysis reports (job margins, revenue analysis)
  • Communicate with local General Managers on their performance levels and provide timely and comprehensive updates on predicted month end EBITDA.
  • Cashflow management and local bank relationships.
  • Analyse payroll data provided to you to better understand if this correlates to the monthly payroll.
  • Ad hoc analysis for Group Head of Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Preparation & checking of company VAT inputs into the group taxation return fully in compliance with the regulations
  • Assist with year-end audit (RSM) questions
  • Assist with ad hoc project requests from local team or head office.

Profile

  • You will be ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified.
  • Good Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills to communicate and present financial information clearly. Advanced Excel skills such as V-look up and pivot tables would be useful.
  • You will have strong company management and financial accounting experience.
  • You'll have demonstrable experience of successfully working in a mid-sized group with all the accounting and financial complexity that that involves.
  • Attention to detail & accuracy.
  • Can do attitude. Gets things done.
  • Strong communication skills, within finance and cross-functionally
