This pivotal role involves overseeing the business operations of two prominent schools in Brent. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in school business management and a strategic mindset.

Job Description:

As the Senior Business Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of financial, human, and physical resources across both schools. Your key duties will include:

  • Developing and implementing strategic financial plans to support the schools' objectives
  • Managing budgets, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations
  • Overseeing procurement processes and ensuring value for money
  • Leading and developing the administrative and support staff teams
  • Managing payroll, pensions, and staff contracts
  • Ensuring the schools' premises are well-maintained and meet health and safety standards
  • Handling contracts and negotiations with external service providers
  • Overseeing the management of school facilities, including catering, cleaning, and maintenance services
  • Providing strategic advice to the Headteachers and governing bodies
  • Implementing policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency
  • Leading on school projects and initiatives to enhance the learning environment
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety policies
  • Conducting regular health and safety audits and risk assessments
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation
  • Coordinating emergency procedures and drills
  • Managing health and safety training for staff and students
  • Overseeing accident and incident reporting and investigations
