We are currently looking for an Autism Support Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN School in Brent.

The Role

In this role you will be supporting pupils with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition on a 1 to 1 and group basis. You will be supporting pupils across a range of classes and learning activities. You will be required to build relationships and establish a routine with students. You should have a good basic, understanding of autism and understand how to ensure the learning environment is suitable, communicate clearly in suitable ways and integrate pupil's interests. You will work closely with teachers and parents/careers and be involved in assessments and reporting in line with the requirements of children Education Health Care plans (EHCP).

The school are ideally looking for a teaching assistant with experience supporting students with autism but are open to applications from other teaching assistants and graduates with a desire to build experience in SEN.

The School

Based in Brent, this specialist SEN School offers a high-quality education, within an open and welcoming environment to young people aged between 4 - 11  years old with Autism. The school's positive and focused community acknowledge the rights of the students to learn and develop as individuals. There is a multidisciplinary team with physiotherapists, occupational therapist, speech and language therapists and special school support assistants, all working co-cooperatively with the teaching staff to meet the individual needs of the students. The school offers excellent professional development programmes for staff and a friendly and supportive environment to work in.
