Role Overview

To operate as a proactive and effective member of the management team ensuring a robust financial control environment, ensuring financial compliance in all areas, delivering financial & commercial insight into all areas of the businesses performance, and highlighting the financial implications of commercial and strategic plans and decisions.

Key Role Responsibilities:

As Finance Manager and one of the key roles within the business, you will be working with the Finance Director and the Finance Manager to develop a financial strategy to support the Company's continued growth and strategic development. You will assist the finance Director of a growing organization operating in a dynamic environment. You will become an integral member of the Finance team.

The Finance Manager will be commercially astute and will be able to identify where there are both time and cost-saving initiatives requiring implementation. This is a very varied role, and tasks will include:

  • Ensures that adequate financial and operational control procedures are in place and are adhered to by the business and result in the appropriate level of financial control and deliver compliance with all Group and external requirements. This covers as examples, control account reconciliations, adherence to IAS, segregation of duties etc
  • Manages the provision of all financial information to the local operations, including (as examples) profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow information, customer and brand performance and profitability, operating cost performance and working capital performance.
  • Manages, reports on, and provides conclusions around each business financial forecasting process - budgets, forecasts, business plans etc
  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of all accounting ledgers
  • Ensures that adequate financial control procedures relating to decision making are in place and are adhered to by the business and result in the appropriate level of financial control, such as delegation of authorities, cost commitments, purchase order compliance etc
  • Ensures that all local statutory obligations on reporting & filing are met and ensures the overall completeness and accuracy of all internal and external financial information in order to ensure that the information is "true and fair" from a local and Group perspective and free from material mis-statement and manages the end to end audit process
  • Manages and ensures that all local corporate, employee, employer and sales tax obligations are met
  • Reviews, changes and develops reporting, analysis and control processes to the extent this delivers or facilitates business improvement
  • Manages - through formal and informal communication - local and regional expectations of the financial performance of the markets and to keep both parties informed of issues that will impact financial performance
  • Works within regional and Group timetables and guidance in the provision of information and works closely with Group Finance teams in understanding and communicating business drivers.
  • Manages and develops a team of two, a Trainee Accountant and Management Accountant in order to ensure the above is achieved and to ensure that their individual job accountabilities are also met

Profile

  • CIMA, ACCA or ACA Qualified
  • Experience in a Finance Manager role
  • Some kind of management experience is highly desirable
  • SAP system experience is essential
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written & Verbal

Salary £65,000 - £70,000 with a 10% Bonus
