We're proud to be partnering with one of the UK's leading sporting organisations to recruit a passionate and commercially focussed Senior Finance Business Partner. The highly-respected organisation is dedicated to advancing the sport at all levels, from community initiatives to running elite competitions, generating revenue through strategic partnerships, sponsorships and prestigious events.

This Senior Finance Business Partner will provide critical commercial finance support primarily to high-profile stakeholders within the professional and grassroots divisions. This role will be involved in contributing to board reporting, preparing investment appraisals and overseeing monthly management accounts preparation as well being the finance contact for some exciting strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Take ownership of monthly P&L and balance sheet reporting for the division, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to meet group deadlines. Provide informative monthly management reports to senior leaders and budget holders.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the division's budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. Prepare detailed, commercially-driven budgets and forecasts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Board & Stakeholder Engagement: Contribute to board meetings and board paper preparation, collaborating with other Senior Finance Partners and the Finance Director.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with budget holders and senior management to guide financial decisions. Prepare investment and expenditure analyses, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and maximum ROI.
  • Financial Control & Compliance: Uphold strong financial controls and risk mitigation strategies. Oversee audit processes and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop direct reports, fostering a high-performance finance team culture.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Qualifications: Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience: Proven full P&L ownership and executive-level business partnering in a dynamic, commercial environment
  • Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, adept at creating presentations, communicating effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders and the ability to dive into complex financial details with precision while maintaining a clear focus on overarching business goals.
