Summary:

My client is seeking a Mechanical/Building Services Shift Engineer for their prestigious contract. This full-time role involves working in a 3-person shift team with Continental days and night shifts (7-7) and supporting various events throughout the year.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete all plant and BMS checks on time, recording and communicating any issues to the Shift Lead or Supervisor.
  • Perform PPM as per set schedules, maintaining high engineering standards to ensure plant and system reliability.
  • Be proactive in preventative maintenance and maintain good site husbandry.
  • Adhere to engineering standards in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA).
  • Follow onsite Quality Assurance procedures, maintaining accurate records and documentation for mechanical aspects of PPM and plant.
  • Promptly address Helpdesk-related reactive maintenance issues related to heating, ventilation, pumps, water tanks, valves, pipe work, and associated mechanical systems.

Requirements:

  • Experienced Mechanical Technician with a high standard of building services provision (planned and reactive) in a commercial environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Relevant qualifications to work as a Mechanical Engineer, including:
    • NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 (Building Services or Mechanical discipline)
    • 3-5 years experience in a similar field (critical or stadia environments)
    • Knowledge of electrical and HVAC plant-related building services PPMs in line with SFG20 and resulting reactive work.
    • Competent in Air Conditioning, Air Handling Units, Building Management Systems, Cooling Towers, Cold Water systems, Fan Coil Units, Heating and Ventilation systems, Water Treatment, and Emergency Generators.
    • Legionella Awareness.
