We are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated teaching assistant join our academy, to support pupils and to ensure that every child succeeds.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff
  • Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils work
  • Monitor pupils responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement and progress as directed

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant educational experience supporting a child/children in a primary school setting
  • Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs
  • Ability to model acceptable behaviours and encourage good social skills
  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent
  • TA1 qualification or relevant experience

The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.
