Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and committed Maths Teacher to join our talented and supportive team. This is a full-time, permanent role, offering the opportunity to teach Maths across Key Stage 3, 4, and potentially 5 (A-Level). The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and skilled educator with a strong understanding of the Maths curriculum and a passion for inspiring students to develop a love for the subject.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching: Deliver engaging and challenging Maths lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4, with the potential to teach A-Level. A strong understanding of the curriculum is essential.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Maths curriculum, ensuring it is stimulating, relevant, and accessible to all students.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Regularly assess student progress and provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents. Keep accurate records of student performance.
  • Pastoral Care: Support students' personal development and wellbeing, providing guidance and mentorship as needed to encourage their academic and personal growth.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Maths department and across the school to share best practices, develop teaching resources, and contribute to interdisciplinary learning.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Contribute to the development and delivery of extracurricular activities such as Maths clubs, tutoring, or trips that support and extend students’ learning.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to enhance teaching practices, stay updated with curriculum changes, and improve subject knowledge.
Person Specification:
  • Qualifications:
    • A degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
    • A strong understanding of the Maths curriculum at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience teaching Maths at Key Stage 3 and 4 is highly desirable.
    • Experience teaching A-Level Maths is an advantage.
    • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate lessons for a wide range of abilities.
