Our client, a well-respected national children’s charity, whose purpose is to transform the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children, is looking for passionate Family Support Worker to join their team

The role will include working with young children and their families within a family well-being centre and in the home, supporting with their complex needs

Synopsis of duties:

· Helping to provide a high-quality multi-agency service that is flexible and supports the needs of young children and their families

· Working with children ages 0-19, along with their parents/carers who live in the community

· Engaging with young children and their families on a group basis or 1 -1 using a variety of interventions to support their complex needs and to achieve positive outcomes

· Delivering group sessions and programmes to support service users, e.g., Parenting programmes

· Working with children and their families who have complex needs such as: disadvantage, poverty, and disability

· Working collaboratively with partner agencies, ensuring the needs of the family are met

· Supporting with a range of needs, such as: housing, helping with the cost of living, making referrals to speech and language therapists, etc.

· Assessing family’s needs through conducting risk and needs assessments and support planning

Essential Requirements:

· Experience of working with children/young people who have experienced trauma and working with families to provide support

· Experience working with children under 4

· A sound understanding of risk assessments and safety planning

· A strong understanding of safeguarding, identifying safeguarding concerns and reporting these in line with policies and procedures

· A Level 3 qualification in working with Children and Young People

· Must have an enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service
