Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate AMHP to join London Borough of Brent's dedicated Adult Social Care team. This role involves providing the AMHP function for the team and be part of an AMHP duty rota across all services & requires you to work as part of the AMHP team focusing on delivering duties as described in section 13 Mental Health Act


Key Responsibilities:

  • To act as an AMHP, carrying out the range of roles and responsibilities defined in the Mental Health Act.
  • To carry out Mental Health Act Assessments as an autonomous practitioner and consider the least restrictive options
  • Conduct needs-led assessments of adults in line with the Community Care Act.
  • Support the unit in achieving performance targets and contribute to its continuous improvement.
  • To formulate appropriate care plans and negotiate care packages with service users and service providers. This will involve formulating multi-service care packages, and reviewing on a regular basis.
  • To carry out all duties in accordance with the council's policy and procedures.
  • Manage cases including safeguarding adults and Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS).
  • Support the team in meeting performance targets and driving continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery.

About You:

  • Relevant social work qualification with current Social Work England registration.
  • Warranted AMHP
  • Demonstrable experience in adult social care, mental health, or disability services.
  • Strong communication, care management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritising and managing your caseload efficiently.
