Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate Social Worker to join London Borough of Brent's dedicated Emergency Duty Team that sits within Brent's Social Care team. This role involves Safeguarding all brent residents through appropriate use of MHA as an AMHP, and safeguard children & young people through appropriate use of the Children's Act 2024. Offering a borough wide service outside of usual office hours. If you are a qualified Social Worker & are passionate about supporting individuals and improving their quality of life, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct needs-led assessments of adults in line with the Community Care Act.
  • Support the unit in achieving performance targets and contribute to its continuous improvement.
  • To formulate appropriate care plans and negotiate care packages with service users and service providers. This will involve formulating multi-service care packages and reviewing on a regular basis.
  • To carry out all duties in accordance with the council's policy and procedures.
  • Manage cases including safeguarding adults and Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS).
  • Support the team in meeting performance targets and driving continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • To Safeguard all brent residents through appropriate use of MHA as an AMHP, and safeguard children & young people through appropriate use of the Children's Act 2024. Offering a borough wide service outside of usual office hours.

About You:

  • Relevant social work qualification with current Social Work England registration.
  • Demonstrable experience in adult social care, mental health, or disability services.
  • Strong communication, care management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritising and managing your caseload efficiently.
