Veritas Education are looking for day to day, short term, and long-term Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join their every growing team of passionate, caring and committed teaching assistants to help support across a variety of roles and schools.

We work alongside Special Needs schools supporting children with a range of different additional needs, from Autism and Asperger's to more emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs.

The schools we work alongside have classes varying in ability and age, ranging from reception (5) up to 19 years old, and are always keen to meet with new Psychology, Counselling and Family Support based graduates coming out of university and ready to look at transferring their degree skills into the education sector!

The Role:

  • It could be working 1:1, in small groups or across the whole class to create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Supporting Special Needs interventions to help run a structured and specialised timetable for individual children require that extra bit of help!
  • Working within a supportive staff grouping where everyone follows the same standards and ethos.
  • Gaining first-hand experience within the SEN/SEMH sector.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A motivated, caring, and patient person willing to get stuck into classroom activities and keen on supporting different children throughout the role.
  • The ability to apply sensible and suitable behaviour management strategies when dealing with challenging/high-risk behaviour in a calm and resilient approach.
  • Open to working in different schools and working alongside various classes and children.

Each candidate will be subject to a DBS and police check where required. A successful candidate will also provide at least two references from their previous employer/s.
