Are you a SEND Teacher looking for a new role in Brent? Or are you a mainstream teacher looking to branch out into the world of special educational needs?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a experienced SEND Teacher to join a secondary school in Wembley. You will be working within the schools SEN unit which caters for a small number of students with speech and language needs. This is a full time, long-term role starting in January 2025.

This is a popular secondary school in Brent, recently rated as 'good' by Ofsted. The school community is truly inclusive. Leaders consider how to enable all pupils to succeed. Pupils learn to value and respect one another, regardless of difference. As a result, the school community is increasingly harmonious. Pupils report that they feel safe. Within this purposeful environment, leaders and staff work together and ensure that high expectations are realised, including for those with special educational needs. They offer a broad and challenging curriculum for all. The school also has an additional resourced provision (ARP) for up to 12 students with speech and language difficulties.

As a SEND teacher you will be responsible for the below:

  • Planning, delivering and lessons whilst assessing progress
  • Working with the support staff to put in place and run interventions
  • Support behaviour by following the children's plans
  • Updating and setting targets for children
  • Offering advice and guidance to the teachers within the main school
  • Working alongside the SENDCO and other professionals
