Receptionist - Public Sector

Location: HA9 0HP
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Pay Rate: 12.60 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a friendly, professional, and efficient service to all visitors, clients, and staff.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to general inquiries.
  • Manage the reception area to ensure it remains welcoming and tidy.
  • Schedule appointments and meetings, ensuring all relevant staff are informed.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and preparation of documents.
  • Support other teams or departments with ad-hoc administrative duties as required.
  • Ensure that all visitors sign in and out, following health and safety protocols.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • Experience in a receptionist or customer-facing role (preferably within a public sector setting).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • A positive, approachable attitude and professional presentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of basic office equipment and a willingness to learn new systems.
