A new position has arisen in our Purfleet Depot For a Head Driver Trainer (RTITB).

Summary of Job:

Taking responsibility for the day to day running of the operational side of the Driver Training Department and all that it entails.  This role will not include responsibility of the department office administration tasks.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday

40 hours per week (reasonable flexibility can be agreed on start and finish time)

Duties:

• To expand and grow the Driver Training department
• Recruitment of new Driver Trainer staff when necessary, including writing of job description and advert, induction of staff and training
• Maintain & develop the RTITB accreditation by checking paperwork on a regular basis to ensure it is at the standard that the RTITB require
• Ensure the department is prepared for the annual RTITB audit
• Keep up to date with legislation and any changes that may arise to training and Health & Safety
• Make sure all customers and their requirements are dealt with correctly and resolve any problems
• Look after key accounts
• Develop Driver Trainer Instructors and ensure their training is up to date
• Deal with any topics that may arise, staff, company vehicles, etc.
• Manage absences that might occur within the Team of Driver Trainers e.g. Sickness (carrying out return to work interviews) and arrange cover where necessary
• Carry out Appraisals and pay reviews for the Team of Driver Trainers annually
• Carry out driver training sessions as required and where required

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Fork truck driver experience
• RTITB instructor qualification
• RTITB Train the Trainer qualification or willingness to train for it
• Health & Safety knowledge and qualification
