Finance Assistant

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Full time – 37.5 hours - Monday to Friday

Hourly rate £12.50-£13.50

Wentworth Woodhouse is a Grade I listed mansion in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust (WWPT) is committed to delivering high-quality, creative and enjoyable visitor experiences.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our busy team here at Wentworth Woodhouse.

This is a full time, site-based role working office hours Monday-Friday.

This role will report to the Finance Manager and be responsible for comprehensive accounting support across the Trust. This role will work closely with all departments ensuring they follow best practice, WWPT processes and work in line will all necessary financial legislation.

Key tasks within this role (list is not exhaustive)

  • Working on SAGE to record payments, raise invoices and reconcile cash transaction
  • Chasing overdue debtors
  • Providing financial information across all department
  • Bank reconciliation and VAT activities
  • Managing purchase orders, credit card reconciliation and Expenses management
  • Just Giving and Gift Aid reconciliation
  • Collating information for Payroll and preparing payments
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with the preparation of management accounts, reports and information for the Board or Trustees, year end and external audits

This is a varied role in a busy environment where priorities and demands can change.

The ideal candidate will be able to adjust their working day to suit and work efficiently whilst maintaining an exceptional level of accuracy.

SAGE experience would be preferred and experience of working in an industry that is reliant on funding as an income stream would be desirable. Strong experience in working with excel is also ideal.
